Smoothing the path to a career: the Drehmoment workshop project is aimed at disadvantaged young people in the Fuerth region. As they work together in the car repair shop, the young people receive social care and can develop an interest in automotive careers and gain qualifications.
Organised by the non-profit youth services centre in Fuerth since 2021, the project was initiated by volunteers from TÜV SÜD and the current project director.
Around 30 young people have taken part so far; with the support of the TÜV SÜD Foundation, the project has expanded since autumn 2023. Plans for the future include extending the workshop to several weekdays and creating opportunities for larger numbers of participants to attend. In addition, vocational qualifications and readying the participants for apprenticeship or trainee positions will become further areas of focus.
