The Hacker School provides young people with easy, enjoyable access to the world of IT before they make their career decisions. Combining Zoom-based live programming courses with on-site teaching, the scheme enables students to take their first steps in coding in their own classrooms.
The committed IT specialists and trainees that teach every course give students insights into the basics of coding as well as their own daily routine. Participants can thus develop a passion for technology while receiving valuable guidance concerning potential careers in the world of IT. The theoretical knowledge in the course is consolidated by a practical element in which the students write their very first program.
The concept has already been successful in Hamburg, North Rhine Westphalia, Baden-Wuerttemberg and Hesse and is now being rolled out in Bavaria with support from the TÜV SÜD Foundation. Its primary target group comprises eighth-year secondary school students. The free service is available to all students regardless of their social background.
The Hacker School’s approach bolsters future-forward skills at an early stage and helps to encourage the IT specialists of the future. In today’s increasingly digitally focused society, it is particularly crucial to pave the way for young people to enter the world of computer programming.
