Creative workshop of the future – Munich Urban Colab

Creative workshop of tomorrow

Makerspaces encourage innovative and creative thinking and knowledge sharing. They are places for putting imaginative ideas into practice and trying out many different tools and new technologies, as well as improving craft and manual skills, designing prototypes and exchanging ideas and experiences with like-minded people. Workshops of this kind are thus ideal centres of extracurricular activities.

Thanks to a new project by the TÜV SÜD Foundation, a Munich makerspace has now more activities on offer for young people. From spring 2024, trainees, apprentices and school students and their teachers will be able to explore and use the workshop at Munich Urban Colab. And there is certainly plenty to explore. The 1,200-square-metre high-tech workshop is equipped with modern 3D printers, laser cutters and woodworking tools, but also has an electronics lab, textile studio and laboratories for IoT and robotics. The perfect place to put a whole host of creative ideas into action.

Project participants can join special courses that are designed to inspire them to develop their own ideas and immediately turn them into reality. But that’s not all. In the next step, they are empowered to pass on the new knowledge they have acquired in this workshop of the future to the next group of young people venturing through its doors!
