The TÜV SÜD Foundation supports the Joachim-Herz-Technikfonds of the VDI (Association of German Engineers), a fund that promotes technological educational projects at schools and extracurricular places of learning with the aim of making science and technology teaching more exciting and instilling enthusiasm for STEM subjects in school students at an early age.
The VDI technology fund has supported over 300 projects since its inception. Its low-threshold application process at national level enables a wide variety of projects from additional post-pandemic STEM schemes to modernization of existing technology infrastructure, to receive rapid funding without unnecessary red tape. Since demand for the scheme increased in 2024, numerous institutions have received funding to expand and advance their educational services.
The VDI, the Joachim Herz Foundation and the TÜV SÜD Foundation are thus jointly making a vital contribution to supporting the expansion of science and technology teaching by educational institutions throughout Germany. In this way, they ensure that young people can experience a wide-ranging introduction to STEM topics at an early stage.
